About Us

NWGA K9 Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit animal rescue organization that focuses on rescuing and placing homeless, neglected or abused dogs in Northwest Georgia and surrounding areas. We are a team of like-minded professionals who volunteer time and resources to help save the lives of and care for these animals.

We rescue dogs in danger of being euthanized at high-kill shelters and dogs about to be surrendered to the shelter system. We provide food, shelter, and vet care to the dogs in our care until they can be placed into permanent adoptive homes. We also work with and assist other rescues with housing shelter pets.

We seek to educate the community in the importance of spaying/neutering companion animals and how to prevent animal cruelty. We also seek to break down the stereotypes of many “bully” breeds.

We never euthanize animals due to space or time constraints, but we may elect to euthanize in the event of a severe untreatable/debilitating illness or extremely dangerous behavioral concerns. Because we do not kill to make space, however, we cannot take in every animal that needs help.
